When you are desperately searching for a job, remember that a brushed-up CV, an impressive cover letter, and successful interview are not enough to become employed. In the modern era of fast technological advances, social media takes up a crucial position. Your accounts on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn can both help you and hurt you. Therefore, instead of just looking for information “where I can find potential employers,” devote some time to make your social platforms work in your favor.

1. Facebook

Potential employers are frequently searching for all information they can find about you. Remember that they can trace everything you post in your news feed. So, check once more which links, photos or statuses you have shared online. If some of them can be regarded offensive or not acceptable for your new career, delete them straightaway. Include other forms of media

LinkedIn allows you to attach any work that you have been doing in the past (a kind of a portfolio). If you were making some sketches or writing some articles for a local newspaper, you may definitely attach them to your profile.

3. Twitter

Scroll down your page to make sure you don’t have any tweets that might be offensive for representatives of a particular political party or religious group. If there are any offensive thoughts, news or ideas relating to your profile, please delete them.

Always proofread what you have written for content, grammar, and spelling errors. Usually, if you make too many mistakes, you create an impression of being unprofessional and inattentive. Therefore, be more careful and pay attention to detail.
